C. Hosidius Geta 68 BC. Denarius 18 mm 68 BC Rome. Draped bust of Diana r. with quiver and bow over shoulder GETA III VIR / C HOSIDI C F Wild boar of Calydon right, pierced by spear and harassed by dog. Cr. 407/2; very fine to extremely fine, scratches on obv.
Diana sent the Calydonian boar to desolate the regioin of Calydon in revenge for the neglect shown to her by King Oeneus.
