Product Description
Didrachm 21,5 mm 281-272 BC. Nike restrainig a horse, on his back a nude helmeted warrior, holding a round shield / Taras left, legs apart, riding a dolphin, holding spears and a round shield; waves below. Vlasto 680; nearly extremely fine, plated but hardly to notice. An expressive design.
As to Fischer-Bossert all known coins from these dies are plated, he thus thinks them to be ancient forgeries - but struck from original dies!
