Antoine de Paule (1551/52 - 1636) was the 56th Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta until his death in 1636. Because of the overpopulation of the capital Valletta he founded the town Paola that was named after ihm. The arms of de Paule's familiy is still the coat of arms of the city, that is called Rahal Gdid -new town- in maltese.
