Diodotos I 255-235 v.Chr. Stater 18 mm 255-235 BC. With title of Antiochus II of Syria. Laureate head r. / Zeus standing l. and hurling thunderbolt, before him N and eagle. SC 629.1 (Antiochos II.); GOLD, nearly extremely fine, test cut on obv.
Diototos was the first Bactrian king who revolted in 256 against the King of Syria. His first coins still bear the name of Antiochos, but show the portrait of Diodotos.
