Dieses Exemplar wurde in den ersten Jahren nach der Erhebung Constantinopels im Jahre 330 durch Constantin den Großen geprägt.
Die Residenzstadt Byzantion wurde im Zuge der Umbenennung zu Constantinopel und der durch Constantin I. erlassenen umfangreichen wirtschaftlichen und juristischen Privilegien, zur faktischen zweiten Hauptstadt des Römischen Reiches.
