Agrippina Senior war die Enkelin des Augustus, Tochter des Agrippa und Ehefrau des Germanicus. Nach dem plötzlichen Tode ihres Mannes im Jahre 19 klagte sie indirekt Tiberius an, eine Ermordung initiiert zu haben. Dieser schickte sie in die Verbannung, wo sie im Jahre 33 starb.
