very rare and handsome specimen dating from the times on the verge of the Fall of the Westroman Empire with lovely plain brown patina
Libius Severus was one of the last Westroman emperors. The Magister militum and German Ricimer made him emperor and was de facto the real ruler of the Westroman Empire. Libius Severus died after a short reign, he was said to have been poisoned by Ricimer, who then appeared in public as ruler of West-Rome.
