Aristobulos (born c. 5 AD, died c. 72 AD) was son of Herodes, king of Chalkis ad Libanon, and great-grandson of Herodes the Great, king of Juda. In 54 AD, Armenia Minor was given to him by Nero. The capital of this kingdom was Nicopolis ad Lycum. Probably it was also the mint of the rare AE-coins. The wife of Aritobulos was Salome, well-known from the Gospel according to Marc. For her sake, John the Baptist was beheaded.
