Skamandros is a river in Troas. He originates in Mount Ida and runs along the site of Troy. According to Homer's Iliad only humans call him Skamandros; the gods call him Xanthos. He is a son of Okeanos with Tethys. For being father of Teukros and Strymo, he is also ancestor of all Trojans
